32nd Annual Oak Park & River Forest Garden Walk

  • Oak Park Art League 720 Chicago Ave Oak Park, IL 60302 (map)

My work will be included in this year’s 32nd annual Oak Park & River Forest Garden Walk, a Self-Guided Tour Of 7 Private Gardens And 2 Public Gardens, sponsored by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory & the Garden Club of Oak Park & River Forest.

"A Form in Passing" began with a branch my children used to climb, from a diseased tree we eventually had to cut down, though I kept the wood for many years afterward.

The piece reflects on growth, memory, and resilience, how something familiar can resurface and be seen anew. I burned the segmented logs to a point of transformation, then reassembled the fragments into a new configuration, echoing their original form while existing in a different time and arrangement. Ceramic tags, resembling mollusks or moss, mark points once touched by small hands, suspended from the surface by the distance of time.

This work will be on view in the front garden of the Oak Park Art League, 720 Chicago Ave in Oak Park, as part of the 32nd annual Oak Park River Forest Garden Walk hosted by the Oak Park Conservatory which is a self guided tour on Sunday, June 28, 2026, 10-4 pm. Held Rain or Shine.
